Wall treatments are one of the best ways to add style to your home office, but applying them can be some serious work, not to mention expensive. Luckily though, the “Tears Off” modular wallpaper created by the Latvian design company ZNAK is a relatively quick and easy way to give your office a fresh new look, all while allowing you to exercise your creative side.

Made up of specially designed perforated pieces which were inspired by the “transformation process of snakes”, the “Tears Off” wallpaper lets you create your own custom design by tearing off patterned strips of the wallpaper sheet in different formations to reveal the original wall color beneath. The non-woven wallpaper comes in 11 different colors, and can be purchased for 10.00 EUR per sheet.

Created by Eric Ku, a recent graduate of the School of Visual Arts in New York, the PIN.S push pin project visually illustrates the concept of “a pin create[d] by pins”. The project was made using 2200 one-inch bottom pins, each of which is was individually numbered and arranged in numerical order, and would for obvious reasons make for a pretty awesome piece of office art.

The Paperclip Lamp

As it turns out the simple shape of a common paperclip can make for a very cool looking office lamp. Created by David Wykes and Benoit Collette, this Paperclip Lamp can be bent and shaped much like an ordinary paperclip, allowing you to position the direction of the light any way you like.

Twister Lamp Concept

This interesting lamp concept comes from Swedish design firm Cate & Nelson, and is appropriately named the Mr Twister Lamp. The lampshade is split into three parts, each of which can be swiveled around, effectively letting you choose where you want the light to spread. When closed, small openings between the tree parts allow light to shine through.

Paperfold Lamps

One of the keys to designing a visually dynamic office is having great lighting, and the Paperfold lamp series created by Sweden’s Kjellgren Kaminsky Architecture firm offers just that. The Paperfold series is comprised of six lamps, all of which were inspired by hand sewn paper clothes Fredrik Kjellgren’s grandmother taught him to make during his childhood. The lamps are constructed from a piece of paper stretched and folded to form a unique shape, and come in four colors; magenta, cyan, amber, and black.
